Before you come
Before you come
This house is roughly 200 years old. We chose depth of experience over comfort. We would rather tell you everything now than have you find out on arrival.
There is no air conditioning
Summer afternoons (roughly 11:00–15:00) get hot. At night we use mosquito nets and the breeze.
There is no television
At night you hear the fire and the insects. There is Wi-Fi.
Winters are cold
We heat with a wood stove, the hearths and hot water bottles. Wind comes through the old fittings. Please bring warm clothes and thick socks.
There are insects
This is a house in the countryside. You may meet a huntsman spider — harmless, and it eats the pests.
You light the fire yourselves
Instructions, a video and tools are provided. Some nights it still does not go well.
