The house
One tree, one beam.
About 260 m² (80 tsubo), all on one floor. The main beams are each cut from a single tree — a length that is hard to obtain today. You can still see the marks of the hand adze.
Rooms
- Two wooden-floored rooms with irori hearths
- Three connected tatami rooms — remove the sliding doors and they become one flat space
- Earthen floor with the kamado stove
- Kitchen, one shower, one toilet, washing machine
- Japanese garden and one storehouse
Please note
Part of the main house is a staff room (marked on site). The two storehouses on the south-east side are not accessible.
A floor plan is on the Japanese page.
